IFI Documentary Festival is looking for original and exciting documentary films

The IFI Documentary Festival is looking for original and exciting documentary films from Irish filmmakers to be included as part of its 2022 edition.

This year’s festival, which run from September 21st to 25th, will be presented as a hybrid online and theatrical event.

Submissions are now open for Irish short documentaries (under 20 minutes) and Irish feature-length documentaries (over 60 minutes). 

Now in its 21st year, the IFI Documentary Festival has screened acclaimed Irish documentaries including Best Before DeathHenry Glassie: Field Work, and Love Yourself Today. International hits such as Minding the GapRebuilding ParadiseLove Child and The Imposter have all had their Irish premieres at the festival.

The 2020 festival pivoted online on IFI@Home, bringing a diverse programme to audiences nationwide, while 2021 festival saw the first hybrid edition, expanding its reach and bringing audiences back to the cinema. 2022 will continue to present hybrid opportunities, bringing the very best of non-fiction filmmaking from home and abroad to audiences across the country.

The deadline for submissions is 18.00 on Friday, June 17th.
